React Job Details

An inclusive work environment is an empowering one. At Cutover, we lead with empathy and enable others to succeed through curiosity, kindness, and self-expression.

Location: UK (London area)

Cutover has built the world's first enterprise-wide collaborative automation platform that enables seamless integration of human and machine work flows. Last year, we announced a $35 million Series B financing round led by Eldridge (alongside existing investors Index Ventures, Sussex Place Ventures, and Contour Ventures) and we're thrilled to be embarking on our next exciting chapters of growth.

We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Engineering team.

What tech stack do we have here at Cutover?

Our Cutover platform consists of a responsive ReactJS View frontend talking to a Ruby on Rails API, hosted on AWS. Our automated testing is done using Jasmine and Jest (and RSpec for the Backend), with Cypress being used for end-to-end testing.

What will your adventure here look like?

  • Helping us to develop, test, and ship at pace.
  • Encouraging and readily giving and receiving feedback to help your team, manager, and wider stakeholders.
  • Working cross-functionally with product and design to discover and build solutions that are scalable and performant.
  • Introducing patterns and architectural decisions impacting our backend architecture and beyond.
  • Prioritising best practices, keeping everything you do up-to-date, secure and compliant by default; recommending approaches, and providing timeline estimates.
  • Developing a deep understanding of our product and its customer base.
  • Forging the next step in your career journey, taking advantage of every learning opportunity that comes along!

What we'd like you to bring to the table…

  • You're likely a passionate Senior Engineer who's excited to work for a modern SaaS business
  • You have experience ranging across both front-end and back-end technologies with a strong focus on portions of the Cutover stack, such as React and Rails
  • Although we're not fixed to exact numbers and dates you will ideally have over 7+ years of experience
  • You're excited about bringing extra layers of shine and polish to products; you're rigorous in the way you test features and you're committed to making the product you're building the best it can be.
  • You're both a mentor and a lifelong-learner at heart: you always have time to chat things through with junior engineers and interns, you want to throw ideas around with your team-mates, and you're always keen to hear new opinions and upskill in new technologies.
  • You have a desire to be more "commercial" than the average SaaS company engineer: we want our engineers to get involved with client-facing work and problem-solving on occasion (it makes sense to know how people are using the platform we've built, right?)
  • You love striving to continuously improve your craft, and appreciate our values of empathy, curiosity, and learning.

The good stuff...

  • We're excited to offer Share Options as part of our compensation package.
  • 25 days of PTO per year + public holidays, and we want you to take all of them!
  • 3 volunteer days to use for any charitable/voluntary cause you would like.
  • A top-tier private health insurance package.
  • Aviva pension scheme.
  • Work from home stipends
  • A personal learning and development budget through Learnerbly. You'll be supported in your quest for knowledge, whatever that looks like to you.
  • If you're thinking of starting or growing your family, then you'll be in great company - more than half of our team are parents and we've built a globally consistent parental leave approach that we're proud of.
  • Employee Referral Scheme.
  • Safeguarding the mental health of our teams is paramount for us. If you'd like to, then you'll be able to avail yourself of multiple Cutover mental health initiatives, from fully subsidized therapy sessions to subscriptions to leading wellbeing platforms.
  • All the company swag you could ever need.

Target compensation package: £90,000 + stock options + benefits.

The final offer may vary from the target compensation package, taking into consideration factors such as your experience level and skill set. If we aren't aligned on salary at this stage, we'd still love to hear from you to better understand if there are more suitable opportunities at Cutover.

Diversity Statement - Empowering Our Teams

We encourage our team to bring their authentic selves to work, which we have found has strengthened workplace relationships and fostered a genuine sense of community - especially during the past two years of the pandemic.

If you are excited by this role, we invite you to apply! Even if your profile doesn't check all the boxes, please don't simply scroll past! We recognize that talent lies everywhere and that some demographic groups are more likely to apply for a "stretch role" than others. We are always open to different perspectives and professional backgrounds to keep Cutover's culture evolving and to ensure that we never stop learning.
